What is Easel.ly?

Easel.ly is a website where you can create visual ideas that you can share with others. It is a free website that features templates and designs which users can edit and they can even design their own template. To start your visual idea you can start from scratch or you can choose from one of the many templates that they have. Creating a graphic is easy all you have to do is drag and drop from any of the preloaded objects or designs and add text to provide information about what you want to convey. You have to register to be able to save any design that you make, but you don't have to register to create anything.

History and Conceptual Information

Easel.ly was launched in 2012. It is a great program that is used by teachers, and businesses. Prior to Easel.ly when people made infographics it took time, graphic design skills, and money which was very inconvenient for people. Users love Easel.ly because you can create infographics quickly, it is an easy program to use, and most importantly it's free.

In this 21st century this program is extremely beneficial to teachers. This program has a wide range of users, there are kindergarten teachers who use it in their lessons plans and there are 12th grade teachers who utilize it as well. It allows them to present material to their students that is colorful and engaging. Easel.ly is a great tool to use in the classroom because it presents material in a clear, concise, and creative manner.

In 2013 it won the Best Websites for Teaching and Learning Award from the American Association of School Librarians.

Unfortunately, there is not :(
But if you're looking for certain templates to use, you can try the Pinterest page under our" Resources" section, or even use Google search.
If you're looking for specific backgrounds, images, or objects, you can either browse through what is given to you when you create a new easel.ly visual, or you can upload your own images and backgrounds. Just keep in mind that if you want to use something outside of easel.ly that you have the rights to do so.
Hope this helps :)

Once you play around with it, it's not too difficult to use! Check out our resources for some tutorials on how to use easel.ly, or just take some time to navigate the different tools on easel.ly.

This is probably my favorite of all the presentations. I agree skies the limit on what you can do for classroom ideas. I think this technology is better than the concept maps we learned about early this year.
